Richard Holloway
Head of Entertainment
In a career that has spanned four decades, Richard Holloway has worked with many of the UK's leading entertainers, musicians, producers, directors and production crews.
Richard has also worked with such diverse international favourites as Danny Kaye, Gene Kelly and all of Jim Henson’s Muppets.
Richard became Head of Entertainment at Pearson Television, (later Thames Television, now talkbackTHAMES) at the beginning of 1998. In this time, he has commissioned and Executive Produced a rich variety of entertainment programmes which include Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor, Pop Idol, The Price is Right, Des O’Connor Tonight, Blankety Blank and Play Your Cards Right.
Prior to joining Pearson/talkbackTHAMES, Richard was Head of Entertainment at Carlton Television and before that, Controller of Entertainment at Central Television where he held creative, financial and editorial responsibility over much of ITV’s entertainment output.
Richard’s television career began as a Stage Assistant for ATV, where he worked his way through the ranks from Floor Manager, to Producer and eventually Controller.
Richard’s impressive and eclectic ITV credits include: Celebrity Squares, Supermarket Sweep, Family Fortunes, The MOBO Awards, New Faces, The BAFTA Awards, Spitting Image, The Muppet Show and Sunday Night at the London Palladium.
Richard has sat on judging panel for the BAFTAs, Montreux and RTS awards. He’s a golf enthusiast and lover of all things Italian.
