Wish You Were Here...? Now and Then

Nearly thirty five years on from when ITV’s flagship holiday programme Wish You Were Here? first broadcast, Mark Durden Smith (I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here) follows in his mother Judith Chalmers’ legendary footsteps to present travel series, Wish You Were Here…? Now and Then. The series takes a nostalgic romp through our holidaying habits from the 1970s, as well as offering viewers advice on where and how to holiday now.

Mark and Sarah Heaney (STV newsanchor, ITV’s Manhunt) between them, revisit worldwide destinations that featured in the original series and find out how they’ve changed and what each destination now has to offer to an altogether more travel savvy world of holidaymakers, since the early 1970s as the holiday industry has boomed.

Each programme features one holiday destination that was first profiled in the original series, these include; Benidorm, Banff, New York, Portugal’s Algarve, Marrakech, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Mallorca, Ibiza, Dublin, Pula in Croatia.
